Let’s talk about textbooks, baby! Online, rental, used — or at all?

I was talking with a fellow non-traditional student about textbooks recently, and he said, “You know, back in the 90s I was so excited I could go to junior college in California for such a cheap price — and then I saw how much books cost and I couldn’t even believe it.”
